Night Always Comes Review
Set against the backdrop of Portland’s inflation and terrifying streets, the movie brings forth a grim portrayal of life and survival for the central character Lyn. The movie is about a girl being driven to the edge to make sure she keeps her family’s home from being taken away.
As you get into the movie, from the very first scene you’re hooked to all the details. If you’re looking for an easy watch, this movie may not be just the one for you. As more time passes, we are taken through everything the girl does to survive through the night. She has approximately less than a day to arrange the movie for her family’s home and she is willing to do all that it takes.
However, the movie is more than that. It is about the very horrific reality of a vulnerable girl’s survival amidst the cruelty and abandonment that she had been subjected to.

What makes this film extremely striking is for how there is no romanticisation or glorification of the mess Lyn finds herself in. As viewers we are completely gripped to the decisions she is forced to take revealing the crushing weight of a woman’s struggle against a society that is constantly offering no safe way out.
The dialogues- a minimum, the backdrop-mostly follows the night and every scene within the film feel very specific and echoes the struggles of many.
The time stamps add on to the suspense that has grips us. The film, Night Always Comes, overall is not just about a drama or a personal tragedy but also offers a mirror to the very brutal side of the society mocking those that are crushed under it.
Final Verdict For the Night Always Comes
The ending may seem incomplete, making you seek more answers into what’s there for Lyn ahead. However, the film overall is less of a ride and more of a triggering journey of heartbreak, lies, struggles making this one definitely unforgettable.
