Confidence is nt something that appears or disappears overnight, it fades quietly and gradually- through small habits, most people don't even notice. Everything that people do regularly affects their overall personality and habits can make or break a lot of things for you.
If you've been wondering why your productivity is seeming low or why you are not feeling your most confident self, your confidence may be getting drained by daily, regular habits without you even realising it.
No, you are not alone in this and not everyday needs to be perfect or productive. The only point here is that small steps can take you a long way and choosing the right steps is what matters it all. If you've been feeling a little less confident lately, keep reading to find out what may be one of the reasons:
1. Comparing Yourself to Others
Something most of us unknowingly follow is comparing our progress to that of others. We live in a world that is so fast paced and competitive that instead of looking at our progress, we measure it by comparing with others. This not only leads to a shift in focus but also affects our confidence and makes us feel nervous, almost as if we are not doing enough.
2. Speaking Too Softy or Too Quickly
Even if we feel clear in our mind about what we have to speak, we often fumble or nervously speak the wrong things when under stress or nervous situations. While, this is normal, it can also be worked on by slowing down and taking pauses in between and no these steps wont make others question you, these steps will only ensure that you are comfortable in what you are speaking.
3. Negative Self-Thinking (Most Often Without Realising)
We often perceive negative thoughts without realising how these thoughts may occur on repeat. Overthinking is only what makes things difficult. It is completely alright if these thoughts seem so overwhelming but it is important to realise that small efforts do go a long way and gradually you will end up untangling some of the thoughts for a more clear head space.
4. Saying Yes When You Want To Say No
We often find ourselves in situations which we want to escape but somehow end up getting too nervous to say no. Every unnecessary "yes" tells your mind to push aside what is important for your time and efforts. Realise what matters and work on building boundaries.
5. Waiting For Motivation
Most people are capable of doing and achieving so much, but what pulls them back isn't their lack of skills but a lack of discipline. They only keep pushing their work off till tomorrow waiting for the right motivation to accomplish it.
However, here is the truth and it may seem shocking, there will never be a right time where you will feel motivated, in fact waiting for motivation only delays your goals. It is discipline which makes and breaks everything. Choose discipline over motivation for the next few days and see your confidence level up.
